This beastie showed up at my door yesterday! Of course I ripped the box apart like a little kid! LOLOLOLOL... what a BEAUTIFUL piece this is! From master caster, and kit maker, Scott Alexander (Captain Cardboard of Atomic City Models)..... and built up and painted by our own master artist, Robert Bleecker (Out Of Time Clocks and Hobbies LLP)... this 1/2 Studio Scale is PERFECT for the person who wants to display the awesome scene from Space Seed! This would go nearly perfect with Jim Key's 1/2 scale 1701!!! Bob... you did it again my friend! A masterful build sir! I think I may have gone overboard with too many photos at almost the same angles...LOLOLOL... but you know me! The Blue Screen Mad Man!!! To save server space on this server, the photos can be now viewed here on their new host Gallery Site of Modelers, Miniatures, and Magic... http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=3617 Thanks for looking! Like I said in the original build thread, this model kicks ass!
Besides the weathering and paneling effects, the name, every so subtly marked on the hull just adds a level of realism that you rarely see. She's a show stopper alright.

Hey thanks gents! This one was pure fun. I got to refine a new ( for me ) painting technique. That's always a good thing when you get to try a new process and get comfortable with it.

Bob did a great job on the hull patterns on this one - the more you look, you just keep seeing more levels of detail. If you decide to get the Atomic City kit, you won't regret it. It's easy to build and leaves very little filling and sanding to be done.

This ship is constantly producing outstanding builds from all who take it on. This is no exception. The work and detail is superlative. The panels, the scratches, and no matter how close Kuhn's lens gets, you do indeed find even more detail to knock the viewer out. It looks great at any distance.
This is an amazing job. Been working on some renders which I will post soon, and I gotta tell you, the ship just looks fantastic. Excellent, excellent work and fantastic photo's. Well done to both of you. |
