Heading down tonight to check out the cavity mold. Wish me luck. I will get some pictures of it and post them tonight or tomorrow.

We pulled the mold and it came out great. We are going to reinforce the mother jacket some more just to make sure it does not break. I hope to have some pictures by the weekend to post.

P.S.- I may also have a surprise for you refit "Dreadnought" fans out there.

I'm looking forward to this collaboration! Good idea on offering the builder a choice of shuttlebays and the opportunity to place multiple bays into the ship.

Keep up the fantastic work guys!

Anyone else excited about the dreadnaught as well as this great kit!?

Finally got some photos of the cavity mold we made of the top of the 1/350 COnstellation class ship.

For the bottom we are going to do the brush-on method using Smooth-on plantinum brush-on silicone. We will create a mother jacket over that. Then we do the nacelles, etc. These will be used to make castings for the negative /female molds.

We will be doing more work on Wednesday or Thursday.

Scott

P.S. Mr. Canoehead I will e-mail you some photos tonight.

Poured a casting on Thursday on the the top hull. I have to wait until July 2 before I can go down to Charlie's to pull her (he has a computer geek convention to go to).

We poured the molds for the rest of the detail parts. I just need to to do the second part for 3 molds and they will be done.

After that, I need to mold the bottom hull to make a second casting. This will be done using Smooth-on Brashable (Platinum) silicone. Same for the nacelles. If it goes well, I may actually offer a limited number of fiberglass kits (but I have to experiment first).

Mr. Canoehead is already hard at work designing the 2 alternate shuttlebays for the kit as well has some cargo bays. She is going to be a nice kit I think. Probably one we would never see in kit form at this size.
