Default USS Falcon - 1/1000 Repulse class Heavy Destoyer

Well, with the Saber now going into paint, I decided she needed an escort and so I pulled out one of the Repulse models I'd bought from Ugh! before the CnD.

Props once again to the Admiral and his Design Works for a cool, sleek looking ship that easily puts the Discovery to shame!

The parts count is low on this one. A main hull with bridge insert and a few add-on pieces, then the strusts and the nacelles. Unlike the Sentinel, this one does not have any panel-lining on the sides, which was one of the deciding factors for filling them in on the Saber. Having them both be 'smoothies' makes them fit in a little better when set side by side.

Like with the Saber, I'm filling in the windows, in prep for replacing them with decals.

Also added on the nacelle caps. They'll need a little bit of cleaning up there, and for certain the ridged pattern is going to be gone when I'm done. Which, when seeing the same thing on Saber's nacelles, makes them look slimmer and sleeker. I was considering painting a demarcation for where the join was to delineate the end caps, but I think I'll keep looking like one assembly instead.

There's a lot of wet-sanding coming up!

Also got her mounted. I was just going to have a drilled hole and a metal rod, but the fit was too loose and tottering. Unlike the Saber, the Falcon doesn't have a lot of meat in the hull, and I didn't want to blow the drill bit through the dorsal detail.

A little scrounge through my round stock came up with a plastic tube of just the right diameter, which was then added and will be smoothed out.

Also added some PPP to some scratches on the nacelles. One of Saber's nacelles is peaking in from the side...

With Saber now in paint, I should be able to turn more attention to the 'Fighting Falcon' very soon.

Model on!

P.S. A note to the esteemed Admiral, I hope you don't mind if I am using the pic you made for the 'box top' art work. If so, I can change it.

One of my all-time favorite Admiral Buck/Tycho Yard designs.

I’ll watch this one with much popcorn...

Always a huge thrill to see one of my Ugh kits built and this is the first Repulse I’ve seen put together! Off to another great start. No problem using the box art! I’m honored!

I know you filled in the window ports here and on Sentinel as well but the Repulse window ports (at least on the upper sponsons) are supposed to be recessed dormer-style. But, your ship may be different of course!
