Why couldn't he have quit BEFORE he made those crappy "prequels"?

I'm sure it goes without saying, but I'm going to say it anyway. There is no way the reasons Anakin turned were good enough.

I don't like to get in on these conversations, but here goes anyhow...

Yes! I totally agree. If I could sum up the prequels best in why they didn't work for me, then this is one of the best answers.

My opinion - making prequels of ANY sort is like telling a joke to which everyone already knows the punchline.

The Anakin bit just made it worse. Teen angsty douchebag does not a badass make.

It may have been the straw that broke the camels back, but it should have been something absolutely fucking mega. Not even a misunderstanding between OB1 and him would have been enough. Even if he busted Ben cervix deep with Padme would not have been enough. Absolute power and all that. Should have been a better, slow build up. Instead, we got, as Sir Cat said, teen angst. A work colleague told me he hadn't seen the new (1st three movies). I told him not to, it degrades the originals.

I can see it now, scrawled in pencil as a side note in Lucas' script:

"Ben plunges into Padme Cervix deep as Anakin looks on...."

That's the funniest fucking line I've seen on this board in years!!!

Great one Trip!

I wonder how well the movies will be like if Carrie Fisher were onboard to doctor the scripts. I remember that she was approached by Lucas but she turned him down. I think Carrie wanted the prequels to be a comedy because she insisted Lucas to write it himself.

For those not in the know, Carrie was one of the highest paid script doctors in Hollywood.

Anyway, what Lucas can do to make most of us sing praise for him would be to greenlight more SW movies that is KOTOR or hundreds of years after ROTJ and written and direct by others. It pisses me off that he ain't gonna let us have more because we whine about the prequels and his tweaking on the OT. And such, we have the rights to do so because we are the paying customers.

Its like we grew up with Burger King and suddenly they want to make crappy burgers because its up to them how they want to make it and you should just buy the damn burger, stuff is in your mouth and STFU. Because its just a burger!

Amen to that. there's better "acting" from Anakin in "the clone wars". In fact, there is a chance of getting some redemption from the clone wars as some sort of better reason. I'm not holding my breath though.

True! Waiting for S4 to finish its run on tv, download 1 shot and watch it all in one sitting! I read good reviews so far... but I also read good reviews on S3 which I felt was a real let down, 80% of S3 was rubbish! Still, am eager to see them much talk about clone episodes on S4.
