So here's another update. Getting the lighting put in now and getting it ready to close up the top and start really getting the thing looking right.

So I am getting the lighting circuits in place, I'm also securing aluminum strips to the upper hull pieces so that i can close up the Star Destroyer. I couldn't resist taking some pics of the engines in full darkness with the engine bells loosely attached and lit.

So, after much delay, have an update. Had to rework the trench AGAIN. Got a much better channeled trench installed and working very nicely. While I have started the trench detail, I think I made the trench guns too big so I am going to use something a little smaller. I also reworked the lighting as well. I went to auto zone and got a hold of these 12-24 inch strips of surface mount LED's already wired and set for 12V DC. These are VERY nice and provide plenty of lighting.

I wasn't really planning to scrap the lighting system that I had made, but when I saw the light strips, it was perfect, so I couldn't resist.

Here's an update with one of the smaller portions of the superstructure being detailed. I'm planning on building up and detailing the sections one at a time. I'll then drill them out, fiber optic them and then attach them to larger sections. One it is finished, the superstructures will be in halves and ready to be put in place and so on.
