Default Walter Cronkite - R.I.P.

I guess it is a sad postcript to my post less than 48 hours ago, that the man I sat and watched during all of the Apollo space program, and many, many more famous and infamous occassions, CBS News Anchor, Walter Cronkite has passed away at the age of 92.

Really, he seemed to be the embodiment of class in the news profession, with a level of integrity long since passed in today's "infotainment" world. His autobiography makes for interesting reading, in many ways a sort of Forrest Gump, falling into history without planning to do so. Of course, that is the only comparison one can draw between the two, except perhaps for a sense of humanity.

We'll miss you on July 20th, but know you'll have a ringside seat to the marvels of the universe you described to us through television.
