A bit more progress. Used a slightly darker colour on the rest of the ship, a slightly darker grey. The flash makes it look more prominent than it is, either way I thnk im going to give it a light misting over of the original colour to make it more subtle. I'll then use Dark Ghost grey to follow the lines on the upper saucer. Im not as happy with this as I was with the lines on the lower saucer, there are a couple of panels that look more like blobs due to an inconsistent air flow from the compressor. Also like I said I think some of it it too heavy / messy, which should easily be cleared up.

Let me know what you think

Right, take two. To start with I coated over the top with a thin layer of Light Ghost Grey, the original base colour. I then went over the majority of the ship with a grey mix, this time following the lines, using the card technique. I'm much more pleased with the results and it looks a lot more authentic. Definitely glad I decided to go over it again.

Thanks for looking guys

looks much better. You could break up the repeating pattern a little here and there by masking of a little sections and very lightly dusting it with the first color. Anyhow looking good.

That is a good idea yeah. I'm going to mix up a colour soon and do the odd line perpendicular line and square section here and there. Ive just mased off ad painted some of the darker grey sections.
