Default Klingon Fleet blog

Ok ok. I wanted to wait until I had some pics up, but I just got the last piece to complete my 1/2500 Klingon fleet and I'm too excited not to share.
I know I'm new here, so I hope you don't mind me posting a blog.

...so it's not entirely complete. I would have liked to have had 2 vor'cha, and I'm missing an early bird of prey due to a stock problem, but the fleet basically will center around the negh'var, with a vor'cha wingmate, an escort of 2 D7s, 3 birds of prey, a D4 and 3 early Birds of Prey (might have these on a separate but matching/keyed base, for continuity).

Building starts in 2 weeks among other things. I'm new to ship building but not resin kits so any suggestions/ additions/ ideas are welcome, for the fleet and the builds.

Thanks!

I got a spoiler alert from my fiance that I'll be getting a DS9 station for christmas. This may end up being a "Way of the Warrior" diorama...

Ok sorry for the double post but I actually have an update for this thing.
I've acquired some more goodies for the fleet. Three more Birds of Prey, 2 more D7s, and a grand total of 4 Vor'cha for the main assault force. It will indeed be a "Way of the Warrior" assault on DS9. This time the Negh'var uses its main disruptor... who knows what will happen.
I'm working on making the Negh'var more accurate, as it's missing some key components and has some incorrect scaling in parts. I'm in for the long haul now. Here's the goods (just a start).

A lot of cleaning up to do, I know. So far all I've done is thicken up the forward section and correct the main bridge (outside of building the thing, cleaning it up, and then realized there were a lot of things I couldn't live with). Built up a Vor'cha and a Bird of Prey too. Sitting next to each other and seeing them in scale is something else! I also have the plating that needs to be replaced vectorized so I can get it right when I cut it out of the styrene. Hopefully that'll happen tomorrow ... we'll see.

How about an alternate version of "Way of the Warrior" where the Klingon take the station...like they would have.

I have a love/hate relationship with this Klingon-heavy episode. My only issue and it's a big one is the Klingons, a warrior race were unable to take the station? Really? Until this episode aired the Klingon were unstoppable. Think "Yesterday's Enterprise" or "All Good Things". They were always able to overwhelm their adversary.

Beaming on board 4 or 5 at a time with bladed weapons! Come on! They are not stupid. Grrrr.

Oh, and nice models.

Well they're not nice just yet, but thanks!

I feel the same way about this episode. Why didn't the Negh'var use it's main disruptor? I would have loved to see that. Beaming onto the station with only bat'leth? One can only assume that Gowron never intended to take the station, but only made this move as some kind of aggressive, Klingon-styled political maneuvering, or maybe just to test the strength to make sure the Federation was worthy of protecting the wormhole and therefore the quadrant?

The plan is to basically set up a display that doesn't re-enact or alter, really, but to capture that first standoff when the klingon fleet arrives and Gowron says it's a good day to die. For the klingon translation see Bellepheron's post above . At any rate all the built ships so far have a brass tube glued into them so they may be taken off the display and put on an individual base or for transport.

Thanks for reading!
