Hey guys -
I finally have some progress to show. I got primer on the engine section, cockpit painted up and installed in the front fuselage which has seam putty drying. The pilot has painting under way. I'm going to stick with the digi camo idea so I have to figure out the colors and pattern next. 79 - I think the weathering you have on the left engine and wing is perfect as is and would stick with that for the rest of it. The details really pop. My 2 cents. -Doug |

Damn that scribing looks good!
Here's my update. I got the rear of the ship back together and I've started to work my way forward. ![]() I wanted to do something a little different here and I am going to try and have a bit of light shining through the front of the engines. ![]() ![]() Started the cockpit and added all three clear parts. ![]() ![]() Well, that's all I have for now. I've been sick all weekend so it's been a slow go. |

I tried some scribing today...totally failed, so it got filled in. Quick advice question, if you don't have a scribing tool/blade whats the next best thing to use?

I have a really good article from Fine Scale Modeler (Nov 07). I use the techniques shown there and it's been working for me. The real trick is how to clean up the scribed lines (especially in styrene) after they've been scribed using a curved xacto blade. This gets rid of the raised groove on either side of the scribe. I'll see if I can scan the article at work and post it up. It has a lot of how-to pictures. -Doug |

![]() So here is my update. all fiber optics are only temporarily lit. I'm just trying to get an idea of what it will look like if I actually manage to pull the lighting off. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Nice cockpit! The lights are really cool. That does it, I'm lighting mine

Back in the day, when sanding seams the raised lines would be partly sanded away. I used to re scribe the lost parts with an Xacto, this would raise the edges of the plastic. After painting, it blended in pretty well with the raised lines.
