Hello gang,
Well i started to do some work on my Scarlet Viper last night i took a razor saw and cut off the wings so there's no going back now. ![]() I don't know much history about the Scarlet Viper but i think it was designed by a guy name Steve Parady and it was seen in the Richard Hatch's Battlestar Galactica Revival trailer. ![]() ![]() |

Cool! I'll be interested to see folks incorporate the various conversion and upgrade sets like being described! You seem off to a flying start- keep up that pace! Someone needs to balance out us taildraggers! ![]() ![]()

Here's some work I did during the Indy 500 today. And while waiting for the Coke 600 to start... stupid rain delay...
Instead of cutting off the piping, I modded the molded in part buy cutting away the backplate and rounding off the pipes. Here's the progress on that so far. Also started removing the raised panel lines and the soft-detailed raised patches. |

A little progress today, no pictures since all it is is just putty on the back end part, so imagine my first picture with an orangish-red outline where all of the gaps and seams are.

No pics from me either - as everyone knows what the model looks like in-progress...
I'm messing around with test fitting lighting for my engines using cheapy flashlights and their reflectors, and setting up lighting for the cockpit display. I'll post pics of the airframe if I decide to add/change/delete details...

That sounds great Talen i'll be doing some putty on my pretty soon.
Here's some pic's of what i have done today i got the air intakes on but they did'nt fit very well i don't know if its my lack of modeling skill or if the back end of the intakes are casted a little to big, when putting the intakes on the kit there was a nice size gap where the intakes meet the kit but after some sanding and playing around with it i got it to fit good enough for me. And i got the new engine exhaust on and the small air scoops on as well. ![]() ![]() |

Great job on progress everyone.
Thunderbear - I bet that was nerve-wracking work on those pipes. 79 - Looking good. It will be fun seeing the new pieces going on. No pics from me yet but I did get my panel lines scribed in this weekend. -Doug |

No work on mine yet, but I've been preparing it for a while. I want to build it
to look like the studio model as much as possible. I thought of redoing some details with Roco mini tanks, they seem to be the right scale. I still need to find one with the right parts, but I'm very close. ![]() I'll be putting LEDs in the engines, with flashlight reflectors. Not sure about the cockpit yet, if I will do the studio mini version or the full size with lights.

Mine's on the desk and I am planning a few upgrades. I want to stay with the overall look of the original, but place some upgraded equipment in places that are logical.
Aircraft often have conformal pods for electronics and fuel tanks. I might do landing gear of my own design but it depends on how crazy I get. Pics eventually, when there is something to show.

Neat idea! I could see that logic applied to a long range recon craft! Extra fuel, whatever avionics pod and intel gathering equipment and then maybe a "stealthy" paint job- along the lines of WWII PRU Blue being developed solely to mask a plane in the sky? I for one, like the correlation between past and future practices. I'll watch eagerly to see where your ideas take you! ![]()
