TBF-1C Avenger - [Scale 1:32] - [Trumpeter].

TBF-1C Avenger - Trumpeter Item No. 02233 - Scale 1:32

Description mentioned in the box:

TBF-1C Avenger.

Production of the TBF-1C began in 1943, and a total of 764 were delivered to the U.S. Navy and Marines. Eastern built 2332 TBM-1C which could be distinguished from their Grumman counterparts only by their Bureau numbers. The Fleet Air Arm received 334 of this type which it designated Tarpon MK II. However, unlike the U.S. Navy, the British retained the seat and instruments in the second cockpit as they would on all of their Avengers.

The addition of the .50–caliber guns and their ammunition, along with the other minor physical changes, resulted in an increase in empty weight of about 500 pounds. Because the TBF/M-1C used the same R-2800-8 powerplant as TBF/M-1, the addition weight resulted in a small decrease in performance. Maximum speed fell to 242 miles-per-hour at sea level and 257 mph at 12000 feet.

Personal Note:

My Dear Friends:

Suffice to say that a lonely man cannot conquer the world and this is my case about this torpedo bomber.

In fact, my experience is very limited regarding how the things work on this airplane or how this bomber worked in combat times, for this reason if you have any experience on this airplane (technical drawings or books, etc.), I’ll be very grateful in know a little bit more. BTW I searched the web and is very limited the technical information on this airplane
I'll be glad to receive any comments on this thread.

Well, let’s the work begins…

I’ll be in touch soon…

Respectfully Submitted,

Alioth

Hello Friends:

A long time has passed since the last post.

Now, I decided to replace the original, "Ignition Wire Manifold" (Plastic) by one of my own workmanship (Electric Welding) also, you will find the cable to simulate the "Spark Plug Leads" and connectors (Aluminum Kitchen Foil).

Have a good day and may God Bless You...

Thanks guys glad you like it... :notworthy:

Truth is this does not even start next to the work you do in R.I. (Amazing) but I must admit I am really having fun on this one, as much as i did with the Petlyakov Pe-8.

May God Bless You and Thanks for Watching... ;)

My Dear Friends:

After much time I'll keep posting... I'm planning to give and end the TBF-1C Avenger this year... As far as you can see, I have started the game... Again!!!... There are two pictures only, one showing the insertion of part of the tubing of the Ignition Wire Manifold that passes through the cylinders of the engine (Looks like a Mesh Hose, I don't know exactly the name of this part)... The second is regarding the Cockpit Area and engine compartment... I'm planning to add the Inter-Ear Deflector Top Plate...

BTW any of you know the color of the original equipment regarding the fire extinguishers used for this bird?... I don't think were red or I'm wrong?...

Thanks for watching... I'll continue by making some pieces... CU soon... ;)
