Here it is! I received the BEASTIE Bob built for me a few days ago and just now had time to admire the piece. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! Bob captured the Studio Rendered Model with GREAT detail in his build of This F & M 1/24 MKII Viper. As stated in his build thread, this is Starbuck's fighter toward the end of last season. The beastie was dirtied up to closely resemble her bird from those Studio Renders.
OUTSTANDING WORK BOB!!! :D :D :D
As usual, all you Rendering Wizards may use these photos as much as you like. ;) :D
Please enjoy the photos here!
Oh wow! check out all those thumbnails, now that's the way to post these so we don't have to load all those pics. That's cool as hell, really nice job on that Bob, kick ass.

Awesome work! She's battered and war worn, but she still looks beautiful.

Did you guys ever see the BSG preview where Dirk met Katee.
I thought, y'know what, there is a sort of resemblance. It was interesting.
Those comps are kick ass rider, very sweet.

CGI still has a long way to go to replace the realism of a good minature.

It's actually not too bad Kurt. I know in the industry they will sometimes use baby powder to diffuse it, or maybe offset it either by white boards or blank out the screen to use only what is needed etc. But that's intensive and requires much rehearsal and run through's to perfect the particular shot set up. This is just showing the model in the best arena possible and I think you're doing great and the pictures are fantastic. ;)

CGI still has a long way to go to replace the realism of a good minature.
Yea, I've been saying that for years now, if only the people who make the movies would realize that. That's why I can't hardly bare to watch the prequels anymore, too much in them looks like a glorified cartoon to me. To my eye it seems that color, lighting, and sharpness have a lot to with the realism of the rendering. I know squat about CGI, but the movies that look the best and most realistic to me seem to stay away from bright vibrant colors and have a softer look to the CGI images. That said, I don't think any movie yet has matched the realism of the miniatures used in the OT films and others like Blade Runner. just my .02......wow, that rant was so off topic.
Awesome renders, that model looks fantastic.
