Howdy Ya'll,

Over a year and a half ago, Max Zephyr put up for sale several masters he'd made w/the intention of kitting, but with which he decided not to bother. I purchased one of those masters - the "K'T'Inga-ized" D-7. I originally was going to just build it, but got to thinking that perhaps this was a good enough looking master to have made as a kit. The gist of it is that after a false start, I worked out a deal to have it cast up and offered thru the Starship Modeler store for others to enjoy. I received the first couple of boxed kits sans box-art the other day and thought I'd share the pics, as well as try to help promote the kit a bit.

I make no profit on this beyond my request for a couple of boxed kits as I loaned Linda and John the masters for use for as many runs as they can sell thru the SM store. For the most part, I just want to see these out there for folks to be able to purchase, as well as to show my appreciation to The Lesters for both this forum and the SM Store. :)

Anyhow, the pics:

I took these a couple days ago and only just this morning found the Alliance Models 1/1000 scale Refit kit. I'll snap some pics a bit later today and then post those, as well. I also plan to try and do a basic buildup on this particular kit so I can get an idea of what build issues it might have.

The kit doesn't have a stand, unfortunately, tho that might still be in the casting stages, as I'm pretty certain that I passed on the one that was included with the master. Not a big deal, tho, as The Model Base Guy has a pretty darned impressive line of Klingon themed bases.

Anyhow, more pics later today or tonight.

Very nice. I know Matt made that awhile ago, that's why I decided to go with the 1/350 version since a 1/1000 version already existed.

Yeah, I'm hopin' it does well enough for at least a second run! Matt did a great job on the masters for this one, didn't he?

Thanks, Mr. Kuhn. However, I didn't actually make the kit. I just loaned it to Starship Modeler so that *I* could get a couple of kits. They they get any profit that results from this, that means I don't have to deal w/the headache of finding the caster, finding someone to do decals and box art, getting boxes together, taking orders, packing orders, etc... Pretty smart of me, I like to think when all I wanted was a couple copies of the kit, plus, making it available for others to own.

Oh, wait....

That is indeed great thinking! I also believe that if it can be made as a one-off, then kits should be made and offered of that item. ;)
