View Full Version : Timeslip Galactica O.S. WIP
This is a Timeslip Creations model kit. It is a reworked, more accurate kit of the original Monogram issue.
So here is where she stands now....
Things to do:
*Need to touch up the red stripes
*Attach rear end caps to landing bays as soon as I figure out what I want to do with them
*Attach engine grill as soon as I figure out what do with it
*Paint red stripes on front and read of pods as well as underneath engige area
*Place decals (red circle and name)
* Final weathering.

The base color is a mix of Floquil Reefer White and Concrete. I used pastels to weather the ship....although it gets washed out in the lighting.
I have one more update regarding the landing bays. Just waiting to take a pic.
Photo taken!
I scoured the internet for images of the landing bays of the Galactica. This is what I ended up with.
Needs tweaking, but this is what I had in mind. Seems to work.

That looks GREAT!! I like what you did with the landing bay.
Thanks guys!
Having trouble with the engines...trying to reproduce the honeycomb effect on the insides. Found some online ...honeycomb graphics that is....but not 100% sure it looks ok. I am using a blue and red gel. Thinking of maybe just leaving it a plain color.
Not sure yet what to do.

Actually, it's not a "reworked" anything from the Monogram kit. The pattern maker - Scott Spicer - built her from scratch.
I stand corrected! And will fix the post! Thanks!!
Here is where I stand with the engines.
I like the smaller honeycomb I think, but the larger will stand out more. Thoughts?
I like this pattern best but I think it would be better if the pattern were just a little smaller, maybe 75% of this size.
My 2 cents.

I like that pattern the best.:headbang:
Great build so far!
The larger pattern is the more accurate shape but it's too large for the scale of this ship. If these are the only two choices you have then I think you would be better off rotating the smaller pattern 90°.
PS
Should you choose to go with the larger stuff you also need to rotate it 90° to how you've showed it in the photo.
