DAMN! That is something! I think I remember reading about this one. The carrier is scratchbuilt at 1/72. He built it to display his planes! LOL! Thanks for posting!
holy CRAP! Even the ocean is impressive. It looks really great with so many people running around. I don't think I've seen one with that many people. Very impressive.

Is that the same carrier from Great Scale Modeling? That is frakking AWESOME! I'd love to have both the ability and the space to build/display a 1/72 carrier.

Obvious I know but i'm saying it anyway...
Building big is one thing but building big with that kinda attention to detail AND the whole deal, stem to stern, looks that good in overall presentation? Now that truly is top class work right there!
Truly a thing of beauty.

That is on display now at a naval museum somewhere up in the Seattle area. My buddy says it is truly stunning. From the A/c instrument panels to the insides of the hanger bays, doors and portals everything is apparently hyper-detailed. He said you stand there and expect it to come to life at any second.

One detail that got to me was the pilots going up the ladder from the catwalk to the flight deck... second picture?
You can almost hear them bullshitting amongst themselves before they head off on another mission. The body languages of the crew tells a many a story.... from the officers on Vulture's Row to the plane handlers... And the gun crews, wondering if Japanese bombers may be hiding in the stray clouds above...
That's Art.

The EAA up in Oshkosh has a 1/72 scratch-built U.S.S Enterprise CV-6 along the same lines. It's damn impressive too.

I saw that in an old FSM (think I still have it)
You're right - DAMN impressive.
Incredible! I would have to be in prison to be able to achieve that kind of detail.
