I've been working on this for a bit, thought I'd put it up here.
Well scribing is done. Not 100% happy but it's good enough for now.

Now, the original plan was a rather large gun mounted to the right arm for long range work.

Problem is, once placed if looked really out of scale.

So I'm revising the position with means a little more body work but I think it'll look good.

Concept is when moving the weapon would be stowed vertically. Might have to add a forward grip for the right arm.

That's a big gun...
Good work, Robb.
Is this one going to be coming to WF?

Yup, it'll be @ WF.

I've shortened the gun a bit, just looked too long. Took about 3/4 of an inch out of the length.

Cool I was hoping we'd get some Mak over here, this stuff is starting to grow on me.

Usually people get more length added...
Few have some removed...

For originality in design, can't fault the MAK/SF3D stuff and this is no bad addition to the mix at all.

Going through a smidgen of a military modeling phase here right now and while no rivet counter, i offer a wee idea or two if i may...
With the weapon, may i suggest a largeish drum or bigger box magazine like the contained belt feed types on todays MG's.
Granted this isn't real world military but i would reckon reloading a mag that looks like it probably holds 15 odd rounds at best would be a major pisser in an armored suit.

More ammo in one mag the better just incase a double tap on targets is needed sort of thing.
Go with the forward grip for the right arm, i think it will make for a better balance looks wise.

Alternatively, you could tell me to "go away you sad little man" but it's up to you sah!
:D

Hmm. It is an interesting model. I've never built a kit from this series. How does it compare with the Gundam type stuff? I've only built only one Mech kit, so my experience is quite limited.

Well the only manufactureres I know that give Bandai a run for thier money when it come to fit is Kotobukiya. Wave is re-engineering the old Nitto kits for a better fit but they're also dropping a lot of the multi-media that made these kits so special. Most of the Ma.K. stuff is 1:20, which is a bit of an odd-ball scale but the detail is nice and there is a growing line of 1:35 stuff.

How does it compare with the Gundam type stuff?
Gundam = shiney, little to no weathering, going for a 'perfect' look. Very anime in finishing aesthetics. Bigger = better. Big guns.
MaK = more weathering the better, looks like it had the shit beaten out of it, WW2 kinda feeling, except in the future. Possibly a more 'mature' perspective on war. Guns tend to look underpowered. Except for Kylwell's MaK stuff, he likes big guns. Real big guns.

Say hello to my little friend...

Still got to run the lines, get everything glued in. Been sanding on a Jimmy Flinstone base for waht seems like weeks. Had to remove over an 1/8 inch off one side.

Hey Kylwell

Looks nice ... I like the body-design ... Not a fan of the gun, though... Does not look Ma.K.-ish to me ....
