Here is another piece from the Richard Long (REL) Collection!!!

Richard asked me to take some shots of the Naboo Starship the other day since I had yet to do so of that piece in front of the real blue screen. I was honored to do so...

Remember, since the chroming technique has shown to be challenging thus far, Richard decided to make this beastie look as if it were aged. Like the MF in ANH did after years of service.

He did a GREAT job!!! Just look at that weathering technique!!!:cool::cool:

As usual, you may do what you wish with these photos. ;)

Thank you for looking! :D

That particular one is of V838 Monocerotis, which is a stellar nursery - all them stars are youngins

I'm almost finished prepping my REL Naboo kit for chroming, and will post pix upon completion (I would've been done by now but I screwed up the $#&!ing panel lines on the lower hull and had to re-fill them and start scribing from scratch).

BTW, here's a great resource for all your finishing needs, including various chrome systems for those who want their Nubian class ships to really shine:

Another finishing option for this type of ship is Alsa Corp's MirraChrome system. That's what I used on this modified Estes rocket, and I was reasonably pleased with the results. Not the best finishing technique for a large model like Rich's perhaps, but it worked well enough at the scale shown...

That is KILLER Rob! This is an Estes Rocket model???!!!

Yeah, I modified the Estes rocket because I like the design, and at the time there were no other versions of this ship available (other than the toys). Little did I know that Fantastic Plastic would soon be releasing a nice little kit based on the same model rocket. And, of course, REL subsequently raised the bar with his larger scale version, which is significantly more accurate than the others mentioned.

Anyway, it looks good sitting atop my desk.

It was Rob's build of the Estes rocket that inspired me to make the larger version.

Yeah, whatever happened to your "present to yourself?" And weren't you planning to do a fully chromed version? I mean, it's not like you have any other models to build, lol.

It was Rob's build of the Estes rocket that inspired me to make the larger version.

I hope you won't hold that against me. Not my fault these guys don't know a kick-ass design when they see one. Which reminds me, where's that flying wing configuration?

I'll finish it someday, probably after I move. Hopefully

Oh shit Bishop that kicks ass! In fact, that would've made a nice MF now that I think of it, more sporty.

Thanks guys, and great work by the two of you.

Mr Kuhn's bluescreen shots are ideal for the Photoshop plug-in (Vertus) I use to cut the images out. Though the more light-coloured ships can be a bit more problematic for the programme to define where the edeges are.

if this one would have been shiny chrome I think I would've been frelled!

Holy shit Bishop man! That really freaking good!

IF let's say Lucas redo Ep4-6 which I hope he don't and likely won't. I think we will likely to see this scene.
