Hey people, i know its been a bit, but i have some pics to post.
This is the fifth Cooper consular ship to be built, and hopefully the last, Whew!
This little darling is going to Gerardo Follano, it has no lights, but some corrected features, most notably is the resculpted cockpit window.
A lot of seams were filled and lines rescribed and some pieces replaced.
The Engine section recieved pins in all of the engine tubes and the clear inserts were sanded down to show the individual ribs and to allow viewing of the red light gel.
Also, in one of the pics you will see the playboy bunny poster and some detail painting of the cockpit.
I hope you all will like, and im sorry for the fuzzy pics:D

Yep... those RC CR-90s are a 'bodyman's special', but they do turn out great once built...

Kewel job on the buildup! Do you get it back for final assembly?

I have to admit, this one was a dream to put together, everything fit like it was supposed to, very little filler, just around the edges.
This was from the first run of kits, sure you have some pin holes and chips but i dont remember useing very much sandpaper, even the engines fit together well!
As for getting it back... No, after Dean is done painting it it goes straight to Gerardo and he will finish the assembly of the guns and radar, I had fun putting this one together, but, i dont want to build another, five is enough for now!

Wow that is a real beauty! I've always loved the Blockade Runner! Do you know if you can still buy these?

Yes, Still available.
Very nice build-up, BTW.
This is no "beginner kit", to be sure.
cant imagine building 5 of them.
What all did you do to "accurize" it ?

Yes as far as I know they are still available, the best person to contact is Anubispro, here on this forum.
Randy might not be able to get you one for a while since hes elbow deep in the SD project.
Be wary, be prepared to do a lot of body work!
Id really like to get 1 more, yep one more for myself, to build into the Episode 6 version.
What i did to accurize is similar to Bobs, the cockpit i resculpted and built a window frame, put a playboy bunny poster in the cockpit, replaced all of the gun barrels, on top of the main cannons there is a red light so i drilled a tiny hole and painted it red and filled it with clear epoxy.
I filled ALL of the seam lines, i added a few greeblis to the engine area.
Most of the stuff is minor with the xception of the cockpit window.

I noticed the cockpit window right off. Looks better than mine! Nice job on those details, they really enhance the look of the kit.

Very nice. Mine was actually delivered TODAY. Bit rough, but it will clean up into a nice kit.
Cheers,
Chris.

have fun! The engines are a real pain, you just have to do exactly what the instructios say and dont forget to pin the engines too, and of course you may have to scratchbuild some parts and use lots of putty, i recommend using apoxie sculpt on the engines and such, it`ll hold better and fill in the holes and gaps

Cheers for the advice. Been looking properly at it this morning. A LOT of work there...............The main body is warped and will need attention. Lots of flash and excess resin too.......$437 delivered to Liverpool.......:(
Will look great though, a massive model. Good CD with it too.
Pics soon. :D
Cheers,
Chris.

Very very nice job there.
Wanted the radiant too, but I'll see how this cleans up first. Some of it is badly warped and the parts fit badly too.
Love resin kits, but they are always hard going.
A lovely kit I bought recently was the Fantastic Plastic "PEGASUS". Great cast and virtually no clean up required. Also the "Explosives Truck" from JOE 90. Best clean cast I have ever seen.
:grin::grin:
Again, brilliant job.
Cheers,
Chris.
