Finished just a few hours ago, paint still drying, here's my latest build. This (PL) 12 inch Jupiter 2 Saucer features a load of details and scratch-built augments. Fully lighted intrument panels via Fiber Optics, "Pulsing" Cryo Tube effects, damm I wish I could post Quick-time film clips here, Stainless Steel/Titanium, Hull metallic effects, Airlock details and lighting, extra "Rear Room" addition with lighting details, exterior Hatch control lighting, Fusion Core and Dome effects, blah blah blah.....it's pretty sweet!
3 months to complete for a client in Australia, takin' a break and on to the next!

I am a big LiS Fan - your J2 is great!
I've been saving time and space on my workbench to do both the classic and movie ships. Can't wait to jump in there!

That is really nicely done. There are no rules here, so why can't you post a Quick Time film clip?

Thanks very much! That display shipped off to Australia this morning, long ride down under!
Hey PS! Does the top section "clip' on and off easily? just wondering how easy it is to get access to the 9V battery. Great build up BTW!!!

Almost seamless, lots of sanding to get finer, exterior, mated edges, top completely removes to view interior. Three 9 volts are easily accessible.
My number one seller!:o
And that's a great idea, could we post QT clips? Or would it eat up too much memory or bandwidth? These are big files in comparison to pics, but I see animated signatures and avatars, can this be done?

Thanks Kurt, in the "heat" of the contest, many of those first entries weren't all given a good look, some really good stuff is just wasting away back there. Lonely, cold, and scared.....sob......"Mommy, I'm afraid"........
BTW: Can one post QT film clips here?

That's real nice. One of my grail subjects, tentatively slated for a 2054 build. :P
You could try dumping a clip onto YouTube and providing a link?

Or how about a link to the actual page, seems easier and requires less steps?

Much appreciated Mate, you are a kind and decent fellow, always nice and mellow to other members. I appreciate the praise wombat-dude. This puppy took over 4 months to do, as it was my first truly "Outrageously" detailed version, and has become the "Special Order" version since. 3 of the ones posted on my schedule, are heading for Australia! Nearly 300 separate fiber optic strands, hand inserted, in each section, lots of work in this one. The Scratch Built Gyro was my personal favorite augment, over my "Standard" edition's detail package. It's a heck of a light show when you pop off the top!
From what I've heard from these clients, LIS is still very popular there, and I get many requests from "The Land Down Under" for Jupiter 2's! Also from the UK. Can you confirm this is so?
Thanks again Mate! :)

Tell ya Papa for your first full on outrageously detailed version it is killer mate.I don't think you can do anymore that what you've done it's so good.Dude that is a lot of fibre optic's you got running in that J2 and the end result speak's for itself. It truely is a fantastic piece you have done there Papa!
Now im not sure why you get a lot of order's from down under mate. But i think anyone who grew up with LIS like myself has a soft spot for it!
Warning,Warning,Danger Will Robinson!

Right on Mate! All the "Oldies" are big with the "60's Baby Boomer" crowd, like myself, and many of you here. We grew up with these great shows, and who, at that tender age, didn't want to be Will Robinson?

Just take your time, it's an easy kit to build, but when you light up a piece, it has to be carefully planned, and you kinda' have to build it "back wards", as most of the lighting must be pre-installed before you paint and assemble, most of the kit. Some parts, paint first, then lighting install, then assemble. You have to think several stages ahead of time, that's what makes a simple kit much more difficult to do in this fashion. I've built nearly fourty of these, at various quality levels, and always seem to be able to add "just one more tiny detail" to each and every one. But like Wombat stated, it's getting to the point that there's not a lot of room left for more additions.
Well....maybe just a few.......:D....hehehe....
Thanks BB-Dude!

Very nice Papa! I've got one of these on the bench and have the light kit for it. Do you know where I can find some other upgrade kits for this? Decals too?
