Here's the old Revell issue kit with an after-market Hull enhancement kit. A simple "low-Budget" build, but nice.

Nice! I have to locate one of these as well. Not the most accurate but don't have the money for anything else, lol. Of course, I'll have to light it as well.

I would like to go nuts with Fiber Optic lighting on this, to give it that "Massive Scale" look in photographs. This, again, from same client, was a budget project. You could do so much with this kit, those little flashers in the Landing Bays, for incoming Vipers, hundreds of lighted windows, Pulsing Engine, could be outstanding. It's not my choices what the options are, or how detailed it has to be, it's strictly up to the client. Sucks sometimes, and other times, a wealthy client let's me go "Hog Wild" on a build. That's a different Ball Game, and it produces my best stuff. Thanks again Robiwan.

Nicely done, Simon. While not at all accurate, that old Sub-Level 3 / SMT / Timeslip Creations battlestar detail set really adds to the bland R-M kit, doesn't it?
BTW, there are two new bits of news w/regards to this old kit. The first is that Timeslip Creations has a resin-cast kit coming out that's to-scale w/the R-M kit and MUCH more accurate. No clue for sure when it should be available or a price.
The other news is that Marko@rockvoice came up with a beautiful accurizing kit for the old R-M kit. It's going to require some surgery to the R-M kit in the form of scratchbuilding a few areas so you've got a slighlty more accurate main hull, but for those of us with one or more of these old R-M kits in our stash and who like to torture ourselves, it'll be more feasible and fun than buying a complete accurate kit. Odyssey Slipways is to do the casting, as well as selling.
Sorry to hijack your thread a bit. Just thought I'd pass that on in case you didn't already know.
Again, very nicely done on your kit here!

No problem Griff, that's very interesting news, and relevant to this post. Thanks for the information!
