NAA F-15C Eagle - "A Different Kind of Jaws"

This is a what-if started a few years ago using a photo of the NAA F-15 mockup from Lloyd Jones' "US Fighters" book and some guesswork about the dimensions and lower areas beneath the blended body/wing shape. Some things I've read pointed out the NAA design might've been the starting point for the Flanker. It wasn't until later that I found more info on the design that was closer to the overall concept of the McD Eagle, but by that point most of the customizing work was finished, so I went ahead and completed the model. The kitbash donors were a Monogram F-15 and F-16, with additional scratchbuilding (center upper-wingbox, stabs, and tailfin). The F-15 intakes were cut down and merged beneath the F-16 forward chine section. The radome was rebuilt from one of my B-58C engine pod intake-cones. Forward windscreen was vacformed PETG plastic over a plaster plug shaped to match the upper nose section. The camo paintscheme was patterned on the current Raptor 'stealth' look, with Duplicolor dark metallic grey sprayed over a silver-misted grey primer basecoat. All the panel-lines were added with mechanical pencils shaded with black and white charcoal pencils; the lower engine area was a mix of metallic acyrilics. The sharkmouth was handpainted. Finish coats were Krylon Satin and Matte over decals from the spares box.
